+ WHY DO YOU USE SQUARESPACE?
We find Squarespace by far to be the EASIEST and most USER-FRIENDLY web platform for our clients. Our clients love the independence and versatility, and we love all the design features.
Squarespace offers a lot of features...such as integrations with outside platforms, options to customize with coding (this is our favorite), they're constantly rolling out new features and offer amazing 24/7 support, its easy to integrate e-commerce...and so much more.
Our clients also get the benefit of 20% off their Squarespace annual hosting plan the first year.
+ DO YOU DESIGN WEBSITES ON OTHER PLATFORMS?
Not anymore! Over the years, we have built websites on every platform, we even built our own proprietary CMS. Once we introduced Squarespace, clients were so happy we decided to design exclusively on this platform. We LOVE everything about Squarespace, but especially the independence it gives our clients. We also offer training with every package.
+ WHAT'S THE PROCESS?
We start with a 30 minute discovery call to find out if we're a good fit for each other.
You must book your website project at least two weeks in advance of your project start date in order to allow ample time for you to properly prepare your content.
Websites take 2 weeks from start to finish, logo design can take 2-4 weeks. Logo design must be complete before your website project begins.
Once you're booked, you'll receive a Welcome Package with some questionnaires and guides to help you put your content together. One the first day of your design week, we'll schedule a call so we can talk about your content before we start to build your site.
On your final launch day we'll get on the phone again and show you the ins and outs of your website with a 1.5 hour training session, so you can manage it effectively going forward. We'll also launch your site while we are on the call. After your site is launched, we'll celebrate along with you by announcing your launch on social media. If we are designing your brand, all your logo files will be sent to you within 2 weeks.
+ What do I need to have ready before the project start dates?
When you come onboard, you will receive a Welcome Package & Guide with full instructions that walks you through putting your content together, including questionnaires that help us to get to know you and your business better. All content is required to be submitted no later than the Thursday before your design week begins.
For Websites - we will need all your copy and images, and filling out an Ideal Customer Questionnaire and Website Design Questionnaire.
For Website +Brand - we will need your Logo Design Questionnaire returned with your business details.
Regardless of which package you choose... you must have a solid idea of your target audience, business mission, products and services, a general idea of styles you like/appeal to your target audience (or exactly what you dislike) and of course, your business name!
+ WILL I BE ABLE TO EDIT MY SITE ONCE IT'S DONE?
Absolutely! One of the reasons we swear by Squarespace is because it's so easy to learn and use. Your independence is important to us. We train you how to use your website on the day of your launch. We will run you through your website backend together. You'll also get access 24/7 support and hundreds resources and tutorial videos after we're done. We will also be available for personal support for 2 weeks following your launch.
+ WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOMAIN AND HOSTING?
You cannot have a website without both domain and hosting.
For those just starting out... this is one of the questions we get the most. It's ok, we call this Website 101.
Your domain name is your "www" or address. We recommend you choose one that is the same as your business name, shorter if your name is very long, and buy both the .com and .ca if you can. You should always purchase your domain with your own credit card to maintain ownership. You can purchase domains with Squarespace for $20/year, or use another provider.
Think of hosting as your cable bill - hosting is the fee you pay to have your website up on the internet. Your host will be Squarespace. You can pay monthly or annually (we recommend annually as you'll get a 20% discount with our Squarespace Circle membership).
+ DO YOU PURCHASE THE HOSTING PLAN / DOMAIN NAME FOR ME?
We do not purchase client hosting or domains. All 3rd party fees are the client responsiblity.
Hosting You will pay for your Squarespace hosting on launch day. Hosting will autorenew on your credit monthly or annually. Our clients get 20% off their Squarespace when choosing annual hosting plan.
Domains If we were to purchase your domain, we would own it, and that is NEVER a good idea. You want you to be as independent with your domain ownership as you do with your business!
You can also purchase domains through Squarespace, if you don't already have one. Domains are $20/year. Some clients like to have their hosting and domain payments all under one roof.
+ CAN I ADD ECOMMERCE SHOP TO MY WEBSITE?
Yes! All Squarespace sites have built-in e-commerce capability. You can add it into your package as an Add-on feature, or you can add it on yourself after we've launched. (Squarespace has a super robust knowledge base to help you through this.)
+ WILL YOU WRITE MY WEBSITE COPY FOR ME?
No, sorry. We are not copywriters. We feel the words need to come from you as you know your business best.
We send you a Guide on signup for you to follow that will help you put your content together. If you are stuck, we advise you to hire a professional copywriter to help you to put your website words together. We are happy to suggest some good web writers.
+ WILL YOU MAINTAIN MY SITE AFTER LAUNCH?
You will have a Squarespace Content Management website, which means that you will be able to edit your site yourself. We teach you how - training is included in your website cost. However, some clients still request that we maintain their site for them. If you are interested in keeping us on retainer, we do that too.
+ WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?
We book projects several months ahead of time, and scheduling ensures that we give all of our clients the proper amount of time that a project deserves. To be fair to you, and every other client in our design calendar, we stick firmly to our design schedule. If you need to reschedule your design date, know that you may do so within 5 business days of booking your deposit will be used to hold your new date in the design calendar. 6 business days or later after booking, there are financial repercussions to changing your design date. If need to reschedule, send me an email: email@example.com and I’ll let you know the next available date in our design calendar.
+ DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE?
Yes, you will need to book your website project at least 2 weeks before your start date. For our available design dates, BOOK A DISCOVERY CALL and we can discuss a time that works best for you during our call.
+What happens if I am still not happy with my branding after my rounds of refinement?
We are almost certain you will be happy with your new brand design after our 2-3 rounds of refinements, but if for some reason you are not 100% in love with your logos, we can continue rounds of refinements at our hourly rate of $125.00CAD.
Note: number of refinements depends on your package
+ CAN I USE MY OWN LOGO?
Yes, absolutely. If you are not coming onboard for the full Website +Brand package, you will be expected to bring your own logo or wordmark.
+ WHAT IF I JUST NEED A LOGO?
Branding is a very important process that should always be implemented when starting a business. Due to the nature of our services, we normally do not allot time in our schedule for single logo projects, however, feel free to inquire if Rosa has time to devote to just a logo.
+ WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE MY DESIGN?
This has never happened. We will be collaborating together throughout the entire process so your feedback will determine the success of your project. Our process ensures that you will receive a full website and brand experience that beautifully reflects your vision. If you ever have an issue with anything please let us know ASAP and we will be more than happy to assist you.
+ DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
All our packages are prepaid. The first 50% payment will secure your design date, the second and final 50% is due on the final day of your website launch, before your website goes live.
+ DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENTS IN USD?
All of our payments are handled online and can be paid in your local currency. We work with clients all over the world, but as a Canadaian registered business and taxpayer, our prices are quoted in CAD. You can pay with the currency of your choice.
+ IS MY INITIAL DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
No. All deposits are nonrefundable as it is our way of securing your spot in the queue. We book projects several months ahead of time, and scheduling ensures that we give all of our clients the proper amount of time that a project deserves. As a result, we turn away clients for your reserved time slot. If you back out of the project, you may leave an empty spot that could have been given to another project. The deposits ensure that clients are serious about moving forward with the project.

+ What is the difference between a logo, branding, icon, alternate logo, wordmark?
An icon is the part of your logo that is usually a simply refined symbol that conveys strong, universal values and ideas that make it immediately recognizable. Essentially, it’s a straightforward and bold representation of your business (think Nike swoosh).
Branding is much more than just a logo. It is the sum total of the experiences your customer feels when engaging or purchasing in your services and products.
An alternate logo is another version of the main logo, with a slight difference. Usually this alternate is either horizontal, or centred depending on what the primary is.
A wordmark is a logo that is comprised of just text, using a chosen font that embodies the essence, or feeling, of your brand. There is no icon in a wordmark, only text. Wordmarks can be stylized to suit your needs.
+ What is the difference between a Mood Board, Inspiration Board and Brand Style Sheet?
Mood Board includes colors, image inspiration and brand 'mood', created from a Pinterest board and based off your questionnaire answers. This is a springboard for your website project, but please note all images, fonts, colours, textures etc in the moodboard will not be part of your final design, we will build upon this 'mood' and direction to make sure your design is unique and authentic to your business.
Inspiration Board you will create for your +Brand design and includes samples of your favourite logos pinned in Pinterest.
Brand Style Sheet includes final colours, fonts, logo variations, and specific instructions on how to use and not use your logo.
